This afternoon, the Virginia Department of Health reports 636,862 total confirmed, and probable cases of COVID-19 and 10,486 total deaths related to the virus in the Commonwealth.

The seven-day positivity rate, PCR only, for the Commonwealth is 6.1%.

Norfolk is credited with 16,714 total cases and 240 deaths with an 9.1% seven-day positivity rate, PCR only.

According to the Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association, 1,046 residents in Virginia are currently hospitalized due to the virus. Over 52,480 confirmed COVID-19 patients have been hospitalized and discharged.

VDH reports that 4,768,777 people in Virginia have received at least one dose of the COVID vaccine. Over 1,817,033 people have been fully vaccinated.

The Commonwealth has received 4,857,835 doses of vaccine and are administering just over 74,900 doses a day.

To date in Norfolk, 87,998 people have received the vaccine and 30,026 people are fully vaccinated.

Norfolk Department of Public Health Expanded COVID-19 Vaccination to Phase 2. Last week, the Norfolk Department of Public Health (NDPH) expanded COVID-19 vaccination clinics to Phase 2, which is for all Norfolk residents ages 16 and up.

Military Circle Mall Vaccination Clinic: The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) supported vaccination site located at Military Circle Mall, 880 N. Military Circle, is conducting daily vaccine clinics from 9 am to 6:30 pm.

The goal at the Military Circle Mall vaccination center is to administer 3,000 COVID-19 vaccine shots a day. 

While registration is preferred, the site is currently accepting walk-up appointments for anyone ages 16 and above. The staff will provide on-the-spot registration, with the possibility of receiving the vaccine that day, or having an appointment scheduled for the following days at the clinic.

Walk-up registrations will occur daily from 9 am to 6:30 pm at the Military Circle Mall vaccination center for any Hampton Roads resident ages 16 and up.

If you would like schedule an appointment before traveling to the center, you can preregister at vaccinate.virginia.gov or by calling 1-877-VAX-IN-VA (877-829-4682).  Remember, you WILL NOT be asked to provide your social security number, insurance ID, or pay to receive the vaccine. 

After you have registered, be sure to check your email daily if you preregistered using an email address. All appointment emails will come from Vaccination Clinics: no-reply@multistatep4p.com.  

If you have preregistered using a phone number, be sure to answer and respond to the call. If you miss a call from VDH, you will be contacted again to schedule your vaccine appointment.

If you have preregistered and are awaiting an appointment, please remember it is important to remain vigilant in COVID-19 prevention. Continue to protect yourself and others by covering your mouth and nose with a mask, wash your hands often and well, stay at least six feet away from others, and avoid gatherings with anyone who is not a member of your household.
