Team-
Please click here for this week’s Incident Action Plan. This
morning, there are 51,251 total cases in the Commonwealth, with 5,143
hospitalizations, and 1,477 deaths. Norfolk is credited with 589 total
cases, 71 hospitalizations, and seven deaths.
Most of the Commonwealth moved into Phase Two of the
Governor’s Forward Virginia Plan last Friday. Richmond and Northern Virginia
will stay in Phase One.
Phase 2 includes:
- Reopening
indoor seating at restaurants at 50% capacity
- Reopening
indoor gyms at 30% capacity
- Reopening
of entertainment venues such as zoos, museums, and botanical gardens
- Reopening
swimming pools with restrictions
- Resuming
recreational sports with restrictions
Phase 2 also increases limits on social gatherings from 10
to 50 people.
Governor Northam says you are still safer at home.
Teleworking and social distancing are still encouraged. Face masks are required
in public indoor places.
Following
Governor Northam's decision to move Virginia into Phase 2, Norfolk reopened all
dog parks, the Northside skate park, neighborhood parks, and public tennis
courts. Playgrounds, basketball courts, outdoor pools, splash pads, and city
recreation centers will remain closed.
Libraries will
also remain closed; however, residents can access library books and other
services online, including the Sargeant Memorial Collection at https://www.norfolkpubliclibrary.org/. Slover online materials and programs are
available at https://www.sloverlibrary.com/.
Finally, those
willing to contribute time or funding in
response to the COVID-19 pandemic, please remember our partners on the
front lines working to meet the basic needs of our most vulnerable neighbors!
