Team Norfolk,
Please see the NWS Tropical Storm Florence Decision Support Briefing as provided by Jeff Orrock, Meteorologist-In-Charge at the NWS in Wakefield. Key takeaways are as follows:
- Florence is expected to intensify becoming a major hurricane off the southeast US coast later next week.
- No exact impacts can be predicted at this time and changes can be expected in forecast track, timing and intensity.
- Based on forecast and model trends there is increasing confidence that the east coast may feel impacts from Florence mid to late week.
- This weekend is a good time to review hurricane plans, review preparations and assess disaster supply kits.
Next NWS Support Briefing is expected by noon Saturday.
