Meet Our Bloggers
Jaime Adams, The Fit Mom
Hi, I'm Jaime. Health and fitness have become increasingly important to me over the last few years as my family has expanded. I am passionate about making exercise easy for everyone and fitting it into a busy schedule. Join me as I discuss the opportunities, challenges, and experiences of balancing family and fitness.

Chris Bendix, Fitness Enthusiast
I consider myself a fitness "addict" while setting an incredible example for success by practicing what I preach; maximum effort yields maximum results. I am a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer who is always looking for the next fitness obstacle to conquer. I truly believe the only way to get better is by attacking our weaknesses on a daily basis. Proper nutrition and a desire to live a longer, fuller life are all the tools someone needs to make a change. Start today!

Bob Batcher,
As a father of two adult daughters and Director of Communications for the City of Norfolk, I used to spend way too many hours watching HGTV and not enough hours doing cardio routines. In February 2013 I decided it was time for a change. I started by journey to better health and believe me it has been a journey, but if I can do it, you can too! I've been taking video of my battle to better health and have decided to share it with you. I hope my blog posts will prove how easy it can be to get fit and encourage you to start a journey of your own.

[ARCHIVED] City Opens Parking Garage During Storm

The original item was published from August 29, 2017 10:15 AM to September 6, 2017 1:31 AM

The City of Norfolk will open York Street parking garage 215 W. York Street at 12:00 p.m. today to give residents a place to park their vehicles.  The afternoon high tide combined with high wind gusts may cause minor flooding in spots.

The garage will remain open until Wednesday, August 30th at 6:00 a.m.  Drivers will take a ticket upon entry but the exit gates will remain open.

The city encourages drivers to avoid high water.  Stranded vehicles block roadways and only add to traffic delays once the water recedes.
