Request for Application (RFA)

Like many urban centers, the City of Norfolk (“City”) has experienced rising levels of violence involving firearms. While the City has used various strategies to interdict this violence, to include traditional public safety measures, there is a need for alternative strategies to combat ongoing issues. In particular, the City is interested in implementing CVI programs to establish community-based strategies founded on evidence-based research and focused on training and certification to achieve the goal of violence interruption.

In collaboration with the City of Norfolk to intervene in and address the root causes of violence, the Norfolk Department of Public Health has released a Request for Applications (RFA) for the Safe Passage Program
