Danica Royster was appointed to City Council on January 13, 2021 to represent the citizens of Superward 7 (PDF).
Ms. Royster is a wealth consultant and junior partner at First Genesis of Virginia, LLC, a family-owned financial planning firm.
Ms. Royster has previously served as a member of Norfolk's Complete Count Census 2020 committee and the Gaming committee.
Ms. Royster currently serves on the Old Dominion University Insurance Center Advisory Board and as a board member and chair of the Development committee of the Friends of Portsmouth Juvenile Court. She also volunteers her time with the Life Enrichment Center, where she has been a literacy tutor at Richard Bowling Elementary since 2013.
Ms. Royster's community involvement includes serving as a program facilitator for the Hampton University School of Pharmacy and Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority Incorporated.
Ms. Royster has been recognized as a Millennial on the Move by CoVa Biz and as Tutor of the Year by the Life Enrichment Center.
Ms. Royster was born and raised in Chesapeake, and is a graduate of Western Branch High School.
She holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Old Dominion University.
