NBN Academy: Upcoming Courses

Generational Diversity & Engagement

NBN Square V3

Generational inclusion within communities is essential to building strong, healthy neighborhoods. Every neighbor brings unique perspectives to the table - whether it's the Silent Generation grandparents who bought their home when it was built, the Baby Boomer parents with their Gen X children down the street, the Millennial couple with young children who just moved to the neighborhood or the Gen Z students splitting the rent on a duplex and living on their own for the first time.

This session explores how neighbors from different generations can communicate effectively and create meaningful engagement to benefit the neighborhood and greater community.

This session features a special guest panel:

  • Bob Batcher - Executive Director, PrimePlus Senior Centers
  • Del. Jackie Glass - Delegate, 89th District of Virginia
  • LaVoris Pace - Deputy City Director, City of Norfolk
  • Nya Muir - Student School Board Representative, Norfolk Public Schools
  • Jordynne Wicker - Student School Board Representative (alternate), Norfolk Public Schools
