We can use many household items to make our animals' stay more comfortable. We're always in need of towels, blankets, and comforters. Canned pet food, non-clumping cat litter, toys, and treats are always welcome. For a complete list of needed items, check out our Wish List. Feel free to share it with friends, neighbors, coworkers, and civic groups!
We are a municipal animal control agency. Our basic financial needs are funded through taxpayer contribution. City funding provides for basic food, shelter, and preventive vaccines. A number of our animals arrive ill, injured, or otherwise in need of additional care. We are fortunate to be able to provide this care through generous contributions to the Friends of Norfolk Animal Care Center. Financial gifts to Friends of NACC are used to treat heartworm disease in dogs, mend broken limbs, and support shelter adoption efforts. Please consider a gift to this worthy cause.

Volunteer
At the Norfolk Animal Care and Adoption Center, we understand that much of our work wouldn't be possible without the assistance of volunteers.
The Animals
How You Can Help
Volunteer positions include animal care (cleaning cages, basic training, and TLC), making adoption matches, website and social media, community outreach, and foster care. Your time and talents will make life better for animals who are in transition.
