Rentals & Reservations
ATHLETIC FIELD PERMITS
There are 125 sites in the City of Norfolk that can be rented out by residents and non-residents for baseball, softball, soccer, football, field hockey, rugby, lacrosse and cross country.
Effective December 17, 2009, Lakewood Athletics will no longer accept field permits for the entire year. Permits will be issued by seasons only as listed below.
SPRING & SUMMER PERMIT SEASON (February 15 – August 31)
First business day in January – Permit applications submitted for spring and summer seasons only.
Note: Permits will not be accepted on Saturdays or by fax.
FALL & WINTER PERMIT SEASON (September 1 – December 15 )
First business day in July - Permit applications submitted for fall and winter seasons only.
Note: Permits will not be accepted on Saturdays or by fax.
Applicant must provide a completed Facility Use Application and full payment. Accepted forms of payment include checks or money orders made out to Norfolk City Treasurer.
A minimum 14-day notice is required for all permits.
Failure to use the dates you actually submit will be grounds for cancellation of your permit and may result in possible restrictions on any further permits.
Rentals of Small Ball Fields (short-term):
Resident: $40/day + $10 admin fee
Non-resident: $50 +
$25 admin fee
Use of lights: $25/day
Rental of Large Ball Fields (short-term):
Resident: $65/day + $10 admin fee
Non-resident: $80/day
+ 25 admin fee
Use of lights: $25
Rental of Ball Field for Tournaments:
Resident: $65/day + $10 admin fee
Non-resident: $80/day
+ $25 admin fee
Use of lights: $25
Rental of Tennis or Basketball Courts:
Resident: $10/day/court + $10 admin fee
Non-resident:
$20/day/court + $25 admin fee
Rental of Fields by Norfolk Youth Athletic Associations:
$12.50/field/season + $10 admin fee
In addition, there is a non-refundable $10 Facility Use Application fee.

PICNIC SHELTER RENTALS
There are four (4) major parks in the City of Norfolk -- Barraud, Lafayette, Lakewood and Northside Parks -- in which picnic shelters can be rented out by residents and non-residents.
Prices are as follows:
$50 Resident/half-day (8:00a to 1:00p, or 2:00p to 7:00p)
$70 Resident/whole day (8:00a to 7:00p)
$110 Non-resident/half-day(8:00a to 1:00p, or 2:00p to 7:00p)
$135 Non-resident/whole day (8:00a to 7:00p)
In addition, there is a non-refundable $10 Facility Use Application fee.
Rentals are available May 1 through September 30. Reservations can be made no earlier than January 1 of the same year. The applicant must provide a completed Facility Use Application and full payment. Reservations must be made at least 14 days prior to the date of the event. Accepted forms of payment include checks or money orders made out to Norfolk City Treasurer.

OPEN SPACE RENTALS
Open space areas are available for rent in the following parks:
Berkley Park
Lafayette Park
Lakewood Park
Northside Park
Stockley Gardens
Beach Property (between Sarah Constant and Community Beaches)
Applicants are required to complete a Facility Use Application. Cost varies depending on number of people.
For events of 199 people or fewer, contact the Recreation, Parks & Open Space Administrative Office at (757) 441-2400 ext 263 for additional information. Office is located at 501 Boush Street. Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00a-5:00p.
For events of 200 people or more, contact Special Events Management at Selden Arcade at (757) 664-6880. Office is located at 208 E. Main Street. Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00a-5:00p.
OTHER SPECIAL EVENTS VENUES
For use of
Festival Parks (Harbor Park Parking Lot, Ocean View Beach Park, and Town Point Park -- open to public events only; no private use) and public streets & right-of-ways, complete a Special Events Permit Application and submit to the Office of Special Events Management at Selden Arcade at (757) 664-6880. Office is located at 208 E. Main Street. Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00a-5:00p.
