Parking Violations
Parking
citations are issued when parking regulations are violated. Penalties
are comparable to municipal charges for a similar offence.
The City of Norfolk has contracted with Professional
Parking Solutions, LLC for processing all parking citations issued in Norfolk by the
municipal parking enforcement staff and by the Norfolk Police Department.
Parking citations are written to a vehicle found
in violation of a city ordinance or state statute, and, by law,
are the responsibility of the registered owner of the vehicle.
It is important, for this reason, that the registered owner complies
with the directions on the ticket within the time period specified
thereon. Failure to do so can result in late penalties, a
registration stop, having your car or tag impounded, and referral
of past due citations to a collection/credit reporting agency.
