Time for Spring Cleaning
Whether at home or in your neighborhood, we have plenty of ways to help you toss (properly) and tidy up where you live. The following services are available for Norfolk residents. Proof of residency is required. Proof may include driver’s license or utility bill. 

Household Hazardous Waste - Dispose of Properly 
Take old paints, automotive fluids, compact fluorescent bulbs, liquid and solid pesticides, photographic and pool chemicals, propane tanks, household and automotive batteries and other items to the following location.

Monday-Saturday, 10 am to 2 pm (closed holidays) NOTE: Closed March 25
Limited to 5 gallons, or 75 pounds of material per visit.

Electronic-Waste - Recycle
Proper recycling of electronics is important because they can contain lead, cadmium and other dangers to environment. Household electronics such as televisions, printers, video games, computer workstations, floppy discs, mainframes, and other items at the following locations:

24 hours a day, 7 days a week
Also offers Document Shredding

Norfolk Recycles Day, Sat., May 6, 9 am to 2 pm at 1176 Pineridge Road. Allowed items.

This spring make a difference in your neighborhood or favorite wetlands spot, or for plenty of other volunteer opportunities. Keep Norfolk Beautiful (KNB) will help you organize a cleanup among family and friends, or offers several opportunities to volunteer this spring. Register online and KNB will provide training and supplies.  

Saturday, April 22: Keep Norfolk Beautiful Day, 9 am - 12 pm. Cleanup or beautify your community. 

Saturday, June 3: Clean the Bay Day, 9 am - 12 pm. A morning dedicated to the Chesapeake Bay and its river and stream tributaries. Check for site locations
